A School for the West Shore
Play and Learn Preschool in Westlake does not follow a corporate template. Our curriculum and teaching approach specifically caters to the needs of families throughout the West Shore. And we continue to be owned and operated by one of our original founders, Miss Joann, whose relationships in this community run deep. Moreover, many of our teachers and substitutes were students themselves. And our families return generation after generation. Play and Learn truly is a family.

A School for Social Connection
At times, the world today leaves us all searching for a place to belong and share life with others. We organize special events throughout the year not only to bring our students together, but also our parents. Your child’s friends’ parents will become your new best friends at events such as Parents Day in the spring, as well as our annual Christmas and Graduation Programs. Our students also celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and enjoy a visit from Santa.

Our school boasts one of the biggest benefits a preschool can provide your child… staff retention. Teacher turnover is common in the childcare market, but it is rare in our building. Our most junior teacher has been on staff for four years. And many of our teachers have been with Play and Learn for more than ten years. This commitment from our teachers reflects the family atmosphere inside our building, which is critical to your child’s development. Consistent, happy teachers create consistent, happy kids.

A School for Parents Who Need to Run Errands
We offer our Lunch Bunch Program twice a week. On Mondays and Wednesdays, we combine all classrooms together and transition the Bike Room into our lunch room. Your child can stay after school until 1:00pm on these days to eat lunch and enjoy extra play time. It becomes a great way for them to make friends with students in other classes, and a great way for you to squeeze in extra errands before it’s time to pick up your little one. To participate, simply bring a packed lunch and payment for the day (cost is $10).
